Due to the health crisis of COVID-19 and the social distancing recommendations to slow the spread of the virus,
Angie Hoffman LPC is offering face to face sessions as well as telehealth sessions. What is Tele Play Therapy: Tele Play Therapy incorporates technology to facilitate the same healing principles of Play Therapy through electronic mediums. In scheduled Tele Play Therapy Sessions, I will work with your child to process feelings and build coping strategies, while engaging in expressive and creative mediums. How it works: Parent will contact me with an interest in starting Tele Play Therapy. We will schedule an initial parent-only intake session via secure video call platform. During the intake session, I will hear your concerns and develop an individualized plan for working with your child. This might include individual Tele Play Therapy and/or Tele Parent Coaching. We have a HIPAA compliant, secure process for tele play therapy so that I can meet with clients from the comfort of home. There is no need to download any program. You only need an internet connection and device such as a smart phone, tablet or computer. The link is sent to you via email and you, click on it and the session will begin. An Example of How Tele Play Therapy Can Work: Some children verbally express feelings and experiences right away and your therapist will help your child build insight into their experience and playfully practice coping skills. For example, blowing bubbles, trying to blow the biggest bubble, which invites long slow deep breaths. Your child may not be able to express themselves in words through the video call format, in which case, your therapist and child will play therapeutic games together to help elicit your child’s sense of mastery/control. |
